Good morning, Worcester.

Hundreds gathered on Oct.

11 at the Scandinavian Athletic Club in Shrewsbury to honor Kevin Doherty, who was fatally shot on Aug. 28 after he confronted someone spray painting near Jordan Pond. The fundraiser—featuring silent auctions, a 50/50 raffle and the sale of 'Shrewsbury Strong' hoodies—raised money for his fiancee Sarah Schofield and her family, while a suspect is set for a hearing on Nov. 6.

Brian Nelson's Laurel cartoon shows a girl walking through time at Institute Park—mixing the park's old and new looks in a creative display.

The paper bag’s invention in Central Mass is a tale of dispute among Charles H.

Morgan, William Goodall, and Margaret Knight—each made machines that changed how people shop and faced legal fights. Morgan later returned to Worcester to start his construction company, linking his local legacy to this everyday item.
