Dirty Gerund features Kayla Blackburn

About this event

@

Monday may have started the week, but you get to decide how the night ends. Come on down to read your work, tell your jokes, sing your little heart out, bear your soul, or generally make questionable artistic decisions – all while accompanied by the coolest backing band since the invention of Ray-Bans.

🎤 OPEN MIC: Sign-up starts at 8 PM, show kicks off around 9 PM. We’ve got slots for both halves of the show, plus a waiting list. Don’t see the room on the list? Talk to Nark and we’ll see what kind of poetic loophole we can find.

Slots are 1–2 poems, 1 song, or approximately 6 minutes.

🎸 NEED THE HOUSE BAND? CALL FOR THEM TO ASSEMBLE! HOUSE BAND: @mathdad_saxman , @isabelo.cl & @bghmatt

🌟 OUR FEATURE: Kayla Blackburn is a Worcester based audio engineer, prose writer, and indie-folk singer-songwriter, originally from Orange County, California. As a songwriter, Kayla draws inspiration from artists like Patty Griffin and Tracy Chapman, with her captivating folk songs that pull you in and remind you of the profound, yet painful human experience. With her songs about hope and justice, she strives to promote radical change through art. Her debut studio album, Where Do I Go?, released last week on October 23.

BONUS RUCKUS: TBD! CASH PRIZE $15!
