COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Worcester offers a busy lineup of holiday events as residents can visit historic home tours at Salisbury Mansion—featuring regular and candlelight tours—and join a crafts festival, a toy drive car show, a blues music event at WCUW, a Mo Rocca conversation at Worcester State College and the Festival of Lights downtown, all set from Nov. 28 through Dec. 5 and beyond.   • Donations from local readers, businesses, and civic groups help T&G Santa buy toys for nearly 10,000 children in need identified by 20 partner organizations. United Way of Central Massachusetts leads the effort — the fund has reached a daily total of $20,930.  Telegram & Gazette
  • On November 26th, Grammy-nominated artist Joyner Lucas—who was raised in Worcester—hosted Thanksgiving Joyner Feast at the YMCA on Main Street, serving hundreds a meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and more from donated sources like Wachusett Country Club, Polar Beverages, Table Talk Pies and CVS.   • Apple is moving its retail store from Marlborough’s Solomon Pond Mall to The Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury & will open at noon on Dec. 12. This change makes the new store one of only two Apple locations in Central Massachusetts.  Worcester Business Journal

  • On Thanksgiving Eve at the Hart Center, Holy Cross beat Worcester State 77-53 in an exhibition game as sophomore guard Tyler Boston led an 11-4 run in the second quarter.
