- ➤ Fiona Hatton, an Alaska native doing very well at Worcester State, studies computer science and psychology, plays on the women’s ice hockey team, and hosts a podcast about mental health. She was named female Rookie Athlete of the Year and gets help paying for school through scholarships (Dimmick Family and Payne) while planning to coach hockey in the future. - ➤ A developer from Worcester is planning an 80-unit mixed-use project on a 6-acre site along West Boylston near Pierce where Jake's Café once stood—plans include razing current buildings and adding 20 affordable units offered by lottery—and the project is set to finish by spring 2026. - ➤ Holy Cross lost its game at Fitton Field on Oct. 25 after squandering an 18-point lead when Colgate rallied in the fourth quarter to win 29-28.
