- ➤ Firefighters battled a large fire that started in the basement of a Main Street commercial building Monday night in Worcester and caused a partial floor collapse as crews struggled to reach hotspots — officials reported the blaze spread into a shared attic amid thick smoke. 7 News Boston

- ➤ Mania: The ABBA Tribute will return to The Hanover Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 as singer Melissa Harding leads a show of classic ABBA hits and interactive moments—tickets range from $39.50 to $96.50. - ➤ Eight New England independent filmmakers will show horror short films at the Harvest Shorts Festival at Elm Draught House Cinema in Millbury on Oct. 25 with tickets costing $15. Organizer Rob Levinson of Out Of Time Pictures will debut his film 'Ramirez'—inspired by his fear of serial killer Richard Ramirez—while the festival will feature live music and filmmaker Q&A sessions. - ➤ Martha Zimmermann, PhD from UMass Chan received a $650,000 four-year award from NIMH to test a text message tool called Reaching Calm—aimed at preventing perinatal anxiety at four obstetric practices.
