  • The Worcester Railers launched a charitable program where each of its 20 full-time employees received $1,000 to donate to a local nonprofit — totaling $20,000 — and a paid day off to volunteer.   • Studio Theater Worcester delivered a well-received production of The Minutes that overcame city pushback after plans for a City Hall venue were cancelled — the show impressed with strong local talent and clear direction while weaving political and social themes.   • A winner claimed a $15 million lottery ticket sold at Lanphers Market on Redemption Rock Trail in Sterling and said they will use the money for a vacation and home repairs—Lanphers will receive a $50,000 bonus for making the sale.   • From January to August, Worcester denied 133 citizen petitions and critics say the rules are too strict—forcing citizens to act like lawyers to get them approved. City officials explained that a rise in citizen activism has created challenges in managing the process.  Radio Worcester
