- ➤ Josh and Julie Fitzgerald are the new co-owners of Cannery Music Hall in Southbridge—this historic venue holds 440 people and will host tribute bands, comedy, jazz nights and dinner theater with its opening night set for October 3 featuring a tribute to Paul Stanley of KISS. Radio Worcester

- ➤ UMass Chan Medical School named a 20-member search committee to find a replacement for Chancellor Michael Collins, who will retire in July. - ➤ A Milford teen was briefly detained by ICE last Friday and later released, while his undocumented parents from Brazil must now wear ankle monitors as they seek asylum. - ➤ Tom Marino and Mark Henderson said Worcester’s dispute with Holden over sewage could cost the city millions and that a stalled investigation into police recruit Enrique Delgado Garcia’s death—despite video evidence—raises questions about state accountability. Radio Worcester
- ➤ The Worcester City Council met on September 16 in a 22‑minute session—covering the pledge of allegiance, national anthem, and proclamations for WalkBike Worcester and Emergency Preparedness Month. - ➤ Luis Perales, a Red Sox pitching prospect, shined in his Triple-A debut at Polar Park on Wednesday as he struck out three batters in one inning and threw 11 pitches—nine cutters and two sliders—after returning from Tommy John surgery.
