  • Youth football teammates and fans honored Gus Kormah, a Worcester Vikings 10U player who died five days after a pool incident at Tatnuck Square Apartments on August 22.   • Voters in Worcester advanced 12 City Councilor‑at‑Large candidates and set the District E School Committee race with incumbent Roy leading over challenger Medina — Mayor Petty earned the most votes from a turnout of 11,489 ballots, which was 10% of registered voters; the winners will move on to the Nov. 4 general election.  MassLive
  • Worcester Mayor Joe Petty announced his run for an eighth term, saying he will focus on affordable housing, improved schools, upgraded infrastructure, and reliable city services. He said his plan will expand both market and affordable housing options—using rental assistance programs to help residents and address homelessness.  Radio Worcester
