- ➤ Authorities investigated an officer-involved shooting in Worcester on Friday that left a 23-year-old man hospitalized after a US Marshal shot him when he tried to flee on Strathmore Road during an arrest warrant execution on Chris Betances and arraigned him without bail with his next court appearance set for Aug. 29. 7 News Boston
- ➤ The Worcester Police Department reported that during the first half of 2025 homicides dropped from 7 to 2 and nonfatal shootings fell from 10 to 8 while stabbings increased from 27 to 34—robberies, break-ins, and motor thefts also decreased even as disorderly conduct reports and arrests rose compared to last year.
