  • Worcester’s 4th Annual Paragus IT Firehouse Cook Off will be held at Polar Park on Tuesday, August 12 from 5 PM to 9 PM with retired Firefighter Lt. John Franco as the host. Local firefighters will vie to make the best meal for judging and a People’s Choice Award while the event raises funds for Detect Together plus the Worcester Firefighters 6K Road Race and features an opening ceremony with bagpipes, the national anthem, and raffles.  Radio Worcester

  • Local baker Jessica Larsen works in the basement of First Congregational Church in West Tatnuck, where she uses a commercial kitchen to create custom cakes and cookies since securing the space in 2022.   • Worcester City Councilor Etel Haxhia appeared in district court Wednesday morning on charges of assault and battery on a police officer and interfering with a police officer during an ICE arrest on Eureka Street on May 8—she pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance amid strong supporter backing.  7 News Boston
  • Police responded to a report of a suspect barricading themselves inside a home at 95 West Boylston St.—the call was received shortly after 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday—and officials said it is unclear if anyone else is inside or if a weapon is involved—pending further details.  MassLive
