- ➤ The City of Worcester added color to town by installing 37 utility boxes with miniature murals from local artists through its WooBox public art project; each box features a QR code that shows art details and a map while funding and weather delays pushed installations to spring. - ➤ WPI researchers led by Professor Yan Wang developed a new recycling process for lithium-ion batteries that recovers over 92% of nickel, cobalt, and manganese from spent Ni-lean cathodes and uses 8.6% less energy—tests show batteries made with this recycled material keep 88% of their capacity after 500 charge cycles and over 85% after 900 cycles.
