EDUCATION NEWS

  • Massachusetts lawmakers are considering two bills (H.647 and S.360) that would delay school start times so middle and high school students can get more sleep; H.647 would set middle schools at 8 a.m. and high schools at 8:30 a.m., while S.360 would shift them to 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., with both plans set for the 2028 school year. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Worcester city council voted 8—2 to let the city manager work with community partners to study creative grocery store ideas after a proposal for a grocery store run by the city raised private sector concerns.
