CRIME NEWS

  • Worcester police report no homicides in 2025 so far—contrasting with 16 recorded last year—and note that seven nonfatal shootings and 27 nonfatal stabbings have occurred as officers credit outreach programs for lowering violence.  Telegram & Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Friday, a Superior Court judge tossed a lawsuit by nine towns (including Holden) that challenged the MBTA Communities Act, ruling that indirect costs did not make the law an unfunded mandate.
