  • A 31-year-old man named Lino Menjivar was arrested in Rhode Island for a fatal shooting on Allendale Street in Worcester that killed 24-year-old Bob Nuah last year—authorities credited a joint effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies for his capture.  7 News Boston

  • Marshall Taylor—known as Major—made history as the first Black global sports star and is honored today on the cover of The New Yorker with a painting by Kadir Nelson.   • Graduating UMass Chan Medical School students received Kente and multicultural stoles at the Deborah Harmon Hines, PhD, Commencement Celebration on Friday, May 30 — marking the fifth year of an event that honored academic excellence and cultural pride.  UMass Chan Medical School
  • On June 1, UMass Chan held its 52nd Commencement where Chancellor Michael F. Collins awarded 265 degrees to the Class of 2025 amid federal funding uncertainty—National Academy of Sciences president Marcia McNutt received an honorary degree and urged graduates to promote science and counter misinformation.
