  • This week, Worcester’s FrontRoom hosts the Bob Dylan Birthday Bash with an Electric set on May 23 and an Acoustic fundraiser on May 24; Mike Goodwin’s comedy and an indigenous slavery talk run on May 27 at BrickBox Theater and the American Antiquarian Society, and ArtsWorcester holds a free reception on May 29.  Telegram & Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Worcester Magazine on May 21 highlighted 11 college volunteers from local schools who led community projects such as food pantries and youth mentoring programs. The profiles show how these students make a difference at their campuses + beyond.  Worcester Polytechnic Institute
  • UMass Chan honored eight faculty at its 26th Women’s Faculty Committee Awards on May 21 at the Albert Sherman Center and on Zoom. The awards celebrated excellence in education, patient care, and community service.  UMass Chan Medical School
  • WPI received $5M from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Tuesday to launch the Climatetech Hub Incubator. The project will retrofit a university-owned building into seven pilot labs where startups can test and scale clean energy innovations — a move aimed at boosting workforce development.  Worcester Business Journal

  • The Worcester Red Sox named Dr. Charles Steinberg, Chad Tracy, Mark Fidrych, and Gene Zabinski as inductees into the 2026 Hall of Fame on May 21. The team selected its third group of honorees and will announce details for a ceremony at Polar Park later this summer.  Telegram & Gazette
