  • A new Sunday farmers market will launch May 18 behind the old Rotman’s building on the West Side and will offer fresh produce, local meats, food trucks, and live music through October. Local businesses including Courthouse Brewing and Mrs. Moriconi’s Ice Cream will open their doors during market hours (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) to support local farmers (and foster community connections).  Radio Worcester

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Clara Barton Birthplace Museum opens for summer on the last Friday in May and sits on Clara Barton Road in North Oxford — it is a place where visitors can learn about the founder of the American Red Cross. The museum welcomes families Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the last weekend in August.  Telegram & Gazette

  • On May 8, ICE agents detained the daughter of a Worcester woman alleged to be undocumented on Eureka Street to force her mother's appearance. The police arrived after calls about a gathering and supported the agents without verifying their identity—prompting criticism of the official account.  This Week In Worcester
