  • Since November, Worcester’s only animal shelter halted new intakes because it was at capacity and 156 animals have been relocated, including 105 dogs and 51 cats, as police worked with other control units to rehome them. MSPCA-Angell and the MASS Coalition have stepped in with a new operational plan and fee-waived adoption events from April 21 to April 27—helping families find homes for these pets.  MassLive

  • Massachusetts legislators have introduced a measure that would let cities with more than 50,000 residents or identified as Gateway Cities exempt vacant lots from property tax when they produce over $500 in food annually—turning neglected spaces into community gardens.
