ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A four-year-old boy fell from a seventh-floor window Wednesday night in Worcester and was rushed to a local hospital where tests show he is expected to make a full recovery, helped by four inches of soft mulch cushioning his fall.  7 News Boston

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Gov. Healey will serve as keynote speaker at the Chamber’s Annual Business Meeting on June 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg; the event includes awards, a commencement, and a local expo, with registration open until June 10 (reservations required).  Worcester Business Journal
  • UMass Memorial Health purchased Worcester Business Center for $14M on Tuesday. The property, developed by Charles Chip Norton before his bankruptcy filing, now has a new owner.  Worcester Business Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • A 1982 VW Rabbit pickup reported stolen decades ago was pulled from Rochdale Pond days after a fisherman discovered it on April 13 (divers confirmed it was empty) as locals filled social media with witty comments about the find.  Telegram & Gazette

  • A series of events is planned: on April 18, a book talk at The White Room, a History Deep-Dive at the Public Library, and an Alton Brown culinary show will occur, with a music recital on April 19 and a pop-punk gig on April 24 at Ralph’s Rock Diner.  Telegram & Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In observance of Patriot's Day on Monday, April 20, Worcester will see delayed trash collection and closures at public libraries, schools, and municipal offices (transit schedules are adjusted as well).
