  • Worcester biotech startup 3X Genetics raised $3.16 million toward its planned $4 million seed round Saturday, fueling local expansion — the firm will use the funds to support research and innovation.  Worcester Business Journal
  • Lifeward completed its $47 million deal to acquire protein drug delivery technology from Oramed Pharmaceuticals’ subsidiary Oratech after shareholders approved the deal on March 12 — the Marlborough-based company issued shares, warrants, and convertible notes for nearly half its equity.  Worcester Business Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Worcester officials approved $500k to preserve the 10 murals in Norton Hall and may relocate them to the Worcester Art Museum for public display. Saint-Gobain will match the funds, and project plans will be set over the next 24 months — experts say the task is complex.  Telegram & Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clark University announced on Friday, March 27 that its Frances L. Hiatt School of Psychology will offer a new two-year Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling program in Worcester with enrollment available in Fall, the program meets licensing standards and includes a 100-hour practicum and 600-hour internship.  This Week In Worcester

  • The state has begun transitioning from battery-powered E-ZPass transponders to free, cost-saving stickers for new and replacement accounts.
