- ➤ UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester announced a freeze on hiring and spending and cancelled offers for a biomedical science doctorate program because of uncertainty over NIH funding—current students are not affected and impacted applicants can try again later. MassLive
- ➤ Student employees from Clark University began a strike Thursday over low wages and inconsistent hours as they seek a card-check neutrality agreement to unionize with Teamsters Local 170—about 700 workers in areas like admissions, library, and athletics are affected while the school has not yet responded. - ➤ State police have chosen a site in Marlborough for a new crime lab after proposals were reviewed by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance — Worcester lost out on a bid from Madison Properties.
