- ➤ Whitin Community Center began converting a historic school building at 14 Hill St. in Northbridge into a child care center after a groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 19 (part of a $10M capital campaign for its centennial), aiming to boost services for families already served by its 237-child program. - ➤ Downtown Worcester BID invites local vendors to participate in the 10-week 'Out to Lunch' summer program on the Worcester Common Oval running Wednesdays from June 24 to August 26. Applications from food trucks, restaurants, and artisans are due by Tuesday, March 31. Radio Worcester

- ➤ Worcester will debut 20 electric school buses next week using $5.4 million in federal funding. The buses, serving schools near the district’s bus yard at 115 Northeast Cutoff, will run simpler routes and follow extra safety measures (like air brake signals for quiet pickups). Telegram & Gazette
- ➤ Worcester Public Schools are considering reducing the busing eligibility radius from 2 miles to 1.5 miles to ease traffic around Roosevelt Elementary and other busy areas. - ➤ Senators approved a borrowing bill that will let public higher education campuses invest up to $3.28 billion for deferred maintenance and upgrades, with $2.5 billion dedicated to capital projects at community colleges, state universities and UMass campuses.
