  • St. John's Church is asking community volunteers to help staff its overnight shelter at Saint Francis Xavier Center (20 Temple St.) amid cold weather and staffing struggles; if enough help isn't found, the shelter may close on Saturday, Feb. 28.  Telegram & Gazette
  • Joan Cusson stepped down as executive director of Goddard/Homestead on Friday after 14 years with the nonprofit — Paul Sullivan, its program director since 2018, will take over to guide the provider serving apartment homes on Main Street and Homestead Avenue.  Worcester Business Journal

  • Salad-and-bowl chain Sweetgreen is set to open soon at suite 710 in the Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury — its first location in Central Massachusetts. The new restaurant will serve fresh salads and warm bowls alongside other recent openings in the shopping center.  Telegram & Gazette
  • California-based Sweetgreen is planning a new restaurant at The Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury, with the opening date yet to be announced; the chain recently opened its first Central Massachusetts store in Framingham (in September) and now operates 24 locations statewide and over 140 nationally.  Worcester Business Journal
