  • A Worcester nonprofit + a Framingham card company have partnered to fund extracurricular activities for foster children in the region. The grant will help cover expenses such as dance lessons + sports equipment to support enrichment.  Telegram & Gazette
  • The Golden Bees sew sleeping bags from donated fabrics to help local homeless with workshops at 4 Church St. in Webster (they meet 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays) and request additional donations of linens and toiletries to support their work.  Telegram & Gazette

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An 88-year-old woman was found frozen outside her home on Feb. 2 after a meal delivery worker discovered her, with emergency crews delayed by icy roads (neighbors had raised concerns about the conditions) and her cause of death remains undetermined.  Telegram & Gazette

  • An engineering firm will move to the 10th floor of the Mercantile Center office tower to expand its team to up to 40 employees; the relocation is expected to boost local business growth.  Worcester Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Worcester State University professor Dr. Hyesun Kim was elected as the 9th president of the Korean Society of Criminology in America. She will focus on boosting recognition of research and strengthening collaboration among scholars in the U.S. and Korea.  Worcester State University

  • On Monday, the Red Sox traded three of the four players received for Rafael Devers from June, including starter Kyle Harrison, plus two others, to acquire promising prospect Caleb Durbin for future flexibility. Manager Alex Cora said the move gives the team better win chances.  MassLive
